It came down to the wire on Saturday, with Alta Hawks Varsity taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Emery. Alta Hawks Varsity trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Tyler Nelson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Emery scored three runs in the seventh inning, but Alta Hawks Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. Emery scored its runs on a error by Bron Gordon.
Alta Hawks Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Wade Ross’s sac fly scored one run for Alta Hawks Varsity.
Skylar Kauffmann was credited with the victory for Alta Hawks Varsity. He allowed two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one.
Kason Stilson took the loss for Emery. He lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out three.
