Alta Hawks JV put up five runs in the third on its way to an 8-2 victory over Emery on Saturday. The rally was led by a walk by Luke Beeny, a single by Jensen Campbell, an error on a ball put in play by Corbin Millerberg, and a double by Pierce Young.
Alta Hawks JV got on the board in the first inning. Millerberg drove in one when he doubled.
Emery knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run for Emery.
Alta Hawks JV pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Alta Hawks JV, Young doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Campbell singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Beeny drew a walk, scoring one run.
Jackson Moeller earned the win for Alta Hawks JV. He went three innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out two and walking one. Austin Southern threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Kove Johansen took the loss for Emery. He surrendered five runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two.
Alta Hawks JV saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Campbell and Millerberg each collected multiple hits for Alta Hawks JV. Millerberg and Campbell all had two hits to lead Alta Hawks JV.
